My personal hot or cold poker top list

One of the things I follow online is the PokerListings weekly hot or cold top list. Since I like reading that list, I will do my own from another perspective. This is probably the only time I'm writing such a list, but if it's appreciated then let me know and I'll write more.

Top 3 hot

  1. Party in the fishpond : On Wednesday, September 7, I was invited to an evening of poker arranged at the recently opened tapas restaurant Aqui in Stockholm. It was a very nice event and it was also nice to be able to meet poker players and friends in a different environment than you normally do. Many thanks to the organizers Daniel Klangenfeldt, Ishak Noyan, Andreas Höglund and WSOP champion Tomas Alenius.
  2. Jens Jadbäck: I always follow the Superbloggen at Aftonbladet. Recently, Jens Jadbäck has written several interesting posts that have led to heated discussions. I really appreciate the way he's approaching and discussing various topics in the poker world.
  3. Main Event CPS (structure): I was recently playing the CPS in Croatia. In the Main Event got you 50.000 in your starting stack and the blinds went up very slowly. When Day 2 began the blind levels were 500/1.000 with 200 ante. There was a lot of room to manouver until the end and I wish more tournaments would adapt this great structure.

Top 3 cold

  1. Swedish Poker Federation: From November 21 to 26 the Swedish Poker Federation is arranging their version of the Swedish Championship in Riga. They came forward with this information very late, and as far as I know, you can not play any satellites to the competition (please inform if I am wrong). I think that satellites are needed to get a big field of participants. Anyway, the information was inadequate and presented too late for us that like to plan ahead.
  2. Side tournaments CPS (structure): The side tournaments at CPS were generally a big contrast to the Main Event. It was a sick poor structure and it was basically pure lottery at the end of every tournament.
  3. My travel blogs: Before every trip I have the aim to write regular blog updates during the trip. Unfortunately, it's almost never going according to my plans since the last thing I want to do is sit at the computer when there is so much more fun things to do while travelling. My last trip was to Croatia and I still have not written anything about it. Shame!

Almost made it

  • Estrellas Poker Tour Ibiza: I will go to Ibiza to play Estrellas Poker Tour with the Goalwin team next week. I've never been there so it should be really fun.

Johan Lendenius

I have my background in the economy sector where I worked several years as a management consultant and controller before I decided to pursue a career as a full time professional poker player in 2005. After that the rakeback company has gradually evolved as a business on the side.

The most important things in my life are my wife, my family and friends and to do well in whatever I'm occupied with for the moment. I see myself as a bit like a 'bon vivant' who does not worry about what happens tomorrow. Someone who loves traveling and good food.

These days I'm mainly playing Texas NL cash games online. When I'm playing live it's usually Texas NL cash games as well, but I also like to play live tournaments. I am
since March 2011 a member of Goalwin's professional poker team.

I'm going to write about my experiences from both live and online poker and my everyday life. You can find previous blog entries from me at:
