Estrellas Poker Tour Ibiza

In late September, I was with GoalWin team in Ibiza. We were a total of seven players from the team on this trip.

We arrived on Wednesday night and the tournament itself (Day 1b) was about to start on Thursday at the Casino de Ibiza. There were a total of 426 participants which mostly consisted of Spaniards, but also many Germans, Frenchmen, Italians, etc. In general, it was a good value since there were some obvious bad players at every table.

An interesting situation at the cash game table

Last weekend I was at Club Oden to play their final ranking competitions. Unfortunately the tournament went to hell and I sat down instead and played some cash game.

After a few hours this situation happened. We are 4 players at the table and play 10/10 SEK Dealers Choice. I have about 2.500 SEK when the hand started and can't remember exactly the actual bet amounts but that's irrelevant to the example below.

The classic poker question: "How much do you have left?"

The question above seems to be creating a lot of irritation and it is often a bit awkward afterwards when you do ask it.

I'm talking about the poker tables here of course and especially in the cash game format and not in tournaments where the irritation levels are not at all the same as in a cash game where each of your chips have a direct value in real money. For me personally, it is extremely important to know how many chips I play with, and of course also how much each of my opponents has. Normally I have a good overview on it but sometimes, for various reasons, such as the opponent is new to the table or hiding chips from my field of vision etc, I do not know.

And then I usually ask the classic question, "how much do you have left?"

My personal hot or cold poker top list #2

Since I got positive feedback from my last hot or cold top list, I will continue on that path and make another one.

How should Vytautas Milbutas have played the hand?

A few weeks ago I was down in Ibiza and played Estrellas Poker Tour. I was there with GoalWin's Pro Team and this hand was played by the team member Vytautas Milbutas from Lithuania.

The blinds are currently 500/1.000 with 100 ante. Vytautas is the button with 24k and has been sitting down at the table for three orbits without playing a single hand. This is on day 2 and it is still about 100 players left (ITM is 45 players). In the SB and BB are two young talented players with big stacks (between 80-100k). They have been very active and aggressive so far.

Johan Lendenius

I have my background in the economy sector where I worked several years as a management consultant and controller before I decided to pursue a career as a full time professional poker player in 2005. After that the rakeback company has gradually evolved as a business on the side.

The most important things in my life are my wife, my family and friends and to do well in whatever I'm occupied with for the moment. I see myself as a bit like a 'bon vivant' who does not worry about what happens tomorrow. Someone who loves traveling and good food.

These days I'm mainly playing Texas NL cash games online. When I'm playing live it's usually Texas NL cash games as well, but I also like to play live tournaments. I am
since March 2011 a member of Goalwin's professional poker team.

I'm going to write about my experiences from both live and online poker and my everyday life. You can find previous blog entries from me at:
